Why SurvivorRoom loves this brand: In 1985, as a busy wife, mother of three, and an active member in her community, Linda Jackson felt like the most unlikely candidate to be diagnosed with breast cancer. At the age of 36, however she underwent a modified radical mastectomy of the right breast. Unfortunately, four years later she had a reoccurrence which required a second mastectomy. During her surgeries she discovered that there was nothing available to be worn immediately following surgery to help her feel comfortable, protected, and most importantly, restore the shape she had lost. As the saying goes, "necessity is the mother of invention." In her case this certainly proved to be true. When Linda originally designed the SOFTEE® it was for her own use, but she quickly realized it could make a positive difference for all women recovering from breast surgery. This was the beginning of Ladies First, Inc. Over the years the company as grown and added additional products.
